  1. Introduction

    This 11-day journey takes you through some of Pakistan’s most iconic and breathtaking destinations blending mountain adventure, local culture, heritage, and unforgettable landscapes.
     

    Your trip begins in the capital Islamabad, then moves through the lush Kaghan Valley, the turquoise lakes of Naran, and the high-altitude beauty of Babusar Top. From there, you enter the mighty Karakoram Highway, leading you to the legendary trek of Fairy Meadows and panoramic views of the world’s 9th highest peak, Nanga Parbat.

     

    You continue toward ancient forts, vibrant villages, and the mesmerizing valleys of Hunza, exploring both Central and Upper Hunza, including Attabad Lake, Passu Cones, and the world-famous Hussaini Bridge. The journey then takes you deep into Skardu, home to the Cold Desert, historic Shigar Fort, Kachura Lakes, and high-impact adventure like the Masur Rock Hike.

  1. Day 1 Arrival: Islamabad

    Your journey begins as you land in Islamabad, where our representative will warmly welcome you and escort you to the Grand Islamabad Hotel. After checking in, take some time to rest, freshen up, and unpack. A light lunch will be served at the hotel so you can settle in comfortably.

    In the afternoon, enjoy a short and relaxed city drive. The highlight will be a visit to the iconic Faisal Mosque, where you can take a peaceful 20–45 minute walk around the grounds and enjoy the serene views of the Margalla Hills. This is a perfect way to ease into the trip.

    In the evening, join us for a welcome dinner. During this session, you’ll receive a brief orientation about the tour, important safety guidelines, and the overall plan for the coming days. We will also conduct a final gear and essentials check to ensure you're fully ready for the mountain region ahead.

  2. Day 2 Journey to the North

    Start your day with an early breakfast before departing Islamabad. The journey follows the scenic Hazara Motorway leading through Mansehra, Balakot, and Naran. This is one of the most beautiful drives in Pakistan, with changing landscapes and cool mountain breezes as you gain altitude.

    Make a short stop at Naran Bazaar for tea/snacks and optional shopping — especially local goodies like fresh apricots, honey, and jams. Continue toward the breathtaking Lulusar Lake, famous for its glacial-blue water. Enjoy a 15–30 minute walk along the lake’s shoreline and soak in the serene views.

    The road then climbs toward Babusar Top, the highest point of the journey. Pause here for photos, panoramic views, and fresh mountain air. The dramatic landscapes and snow-capped peaks make this the highlight of the day.

    From Babusar, descend toward Chilas while joining the legendary Karakoram Highway. Reach Shangrila Chillas Hotel by evening, followed by dinner and rest after a long but rewarding travel day.

  3. Day 3 Fairy Meadows

    Start your day with breakfast and an early checkout from your hotel in Chilas. The day begins with a scenic drive to Raikot Bridge, which takes around 2–3 hours depending on road conditions. The journey itself is beautiful, winding through rivers, valleys, and rugged mountain scenery.

    At Raikot Bridge, it’s time for a thrilling jeep ride. Switch to local 4x4 jeeps for the rugged track to Tattu, a ride of about 1–1.5 hours. The rough road and breathtaking views make this one of the most exciting parts of the day.

    From Tattu, begin your 2–3 hour trek to Fairy Meadows. If preferred, you can arrange horseback rides. The trail is easy to moderate, passing through dense forests with numerous scenic photo stops. Along the way, enjoy the fresh mountain air and panoramic views that make every step memorable.

    Upon arrival, check into Fairy View Point huts or cottages. Take a short walk to the viewpoint to witness your first sunset over Nanga Parbat, accompanied by a relaxing evening tea. Later, gather around a campfire or enjoy a cozy hut dinner, then rest early to acclimatize to the altitude (~3,300 m / 10,800 ft).

    Chilas → Raikot: 55–90 km by road

    Health Note: Take time to acclimatize — stay hydrated and avoid heavy exertion during the first evening.

  4. Day 4 Bayal Camp / Nanga Parbat viewpoint

    Wake up early for a sunrise walk to the main Nanga Parbat viewpoint, where the first morning light beautifully illuminates the massive peak. Spend 30–60 minutes here for photography, capturing the stunning vistas in the soft golden light.

    Return to the huts for breakfast, then embark on a guided day-hike to Bayal (Beyal) Camp. The trek is moderate, taking about 2–4 hours round trip depending on your pace. Along the way, enjoy unobstructed views of Nanga Parbat’s towering faces, and immerse yourself in the peaceful alpine surroundings.

    At Bayal Camp, take a break for lunch or tea, either packed or provided, before returning to Fairy Meadows in the late afternoon. Once back, you can take an optional short walk in the meadows and meet the local shepherds to experience a glimpse of the region’s simple mountain life.

    End the day with dinner and early rest, giving your body time to recover after a rewarding day of trekking and sightseeing.

    Distance & Elevation:

    Trekking distance: 3–6 km total depending on your hike to Bayal

    Bayal Camp elevation: ~3,500 m (11,500 ft) — excellent views of Nanga Parbat

    Weather (June): Cold, daytime 5–15°C; nights 0–5°C

    Accommodation: Bayal Camp huts or return to Fairy View Point huts

    Pack/Prepare: Warm layers, camera with zoom, trekking poles (if used), snacks, water, and water purification tablets

    Safety Note: Mountain weather changes rapidly — carry a waterproof layer and always inform guides or lodge staff about your planned route.

  5. Day 5 Drive to Central Hunza

    After breakfast, begin the trek back from Fairy Meadows to the jeep drop at Tattu/Raikot. From there, board your jeep to Raikot Bridge, where you can enjoy a quick lunch or tea break before continuing your journey.

    The day’s highlight is a long scenic drive along the Karakoram Highway (KKH) to Hunza. Along the way, stop at viewpoints for Rakaposhi and Gilgit, enjoy roadside tea stalls, and take short visits to local villages, experiencing the culture and charm of the region. The drive itself offers breathtaking vistas of mountains, rivers, and valleys, making it a truly memorable journey.

    Arrive in Central Hunza (Karimabad) and check in at Qayam Hunza or Eagle Nest Hotel. In the evening, enjoy a light dinner followed by a stroll through Karimabad Bazaar, soaking in the local atmosphere, handicrafts, and friendly vibe of the town.

    Trek back to jeep drop and ride to Raikot Bridge

    Scenic drive along KKH with stops for views and photos

    Short cultural visits to local villages

    Evening walk in Karimabad Bazaar

  6. Day 6 Explore Central Hunza (Karimabad): culture & viewpoints

    Start your day with breakfast at the hotel, then head out to explore Hunza’s rich history and culture. Begin with a guided tour of Baltit Fort (45–60 minutes), an ancient fortress offering stunning views of the Hunza Valley. Afterward, take a short hike to Altit Fort, where you can explore the museum exhibits and learn more about the traditions, architecture, and lifestyle of the Hunza people.

    Return to Karimabad for lunch, where you can sample local specialties like apricot dishes, dumplings, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. After lunch, take a scenic walk or short drive to Eagle’s Nest / Duikar viewpoint, perfect for panoramic views of Rakaposhi, Ultar, and the Hunza Valley. Time your visit for golden hour photography to capture the mountains bathed in warm sunlight.

    Later, enjoy a stroll through Karimabad Bazaar, exploring handicrafts, pashmina shops, and interacting with local vendors. End the day with dinner at your hotel, possibly accompanied by cultural storytelling if available, for an immersive Hunza experience.

  7. Day 7 Upper Hunza (Passu, Gulmit)

    Start the day with breakfast at the hotel and checkout, then begin your scenic drive north along the Karakoram Highway toward Upper Hunza (Gojal). Your first stop is Attabad Lake , where you can enjoy a boat ride or simply take in the stunning turquoise waters and surrounding mountains, perfect for photography.

    Next, continue to Gulmit village for a short stroll through the village, giving you a glimpse of local life. From there, drive to Passu, where the iconic Passu Cones viewpoint and nearby glaciers await. Take a break here for a picnic lunch with incredible mountain views, soaking in the dramatic scenery.

    In the afternoon, walk the famous Hussaini Suspension Bridge (if open). This moderately thrilling bridge requires careful steps and minimal load, offering an unforgettable experience above the Hunza River.

    In the evening, check into Shilmin Resort in Passu, where you can enjoy a digital detox night with limited or no Wi-Fi — perfect for stargazing under the clear mountain sky.

  8. Day 8 Skardu | Kachura Lakes & Shangrila Lake

    Start your day early in the morning with departure from Passu for the long scenic drive to Skardu. The journey is filled with breathtaking mountain views, rivers, and valleys, though the roads can be rugged in parts. Stop along the way for lunch in Gilgit and stretch your legs while taking in the scenery.

    If time permits in the afternoon, visit Lower Kachura (Shangrila) Lake for a relaxing stroll along the shoreline, beautiful photo opportunities, and optional paddle-boat rides. You may also make a quick stop at Upper Kachura Lake to capture more of the stunning landscapes.

    In the evening, check in at Al Noor Starlet Hotel in Skardu, enjoy dinner, and rest after the long day.

  9. Day 9 Skardu: Cold Desert (Katpana) & Shigar Fort

    Begin your day with breakfast at the hotel, then set out for an adventure to the Cold Desert, also known as the sand dunes near Skardu. Take a short walk or mini hike across the dunes and capture stunning photos of the unique landscape, where golden sands stretch against the backdrop of mountains.

    Next, drive to Shigar Valley and visit the Shigar Fort, a beautifully restored heritage site that now serves as a museum and cultural center. Explore the fort’s exhibits to learn about the region’s history and traditions, and take a walking tour of the nearby village. If possible, enjoy tea with local residents, experiencing the warm hospitality of the valley.

    Return to Skardu town in the evening for dinner at the hotel and rest after a day filled with natural beauty and cultural exploration.

  10. Day 10 Masur Rock Hike

    Embark on the hike/climb to Masur Rock, taking plenty of photo stops along the way and enjoying a packed lunch amidst the stunning scenery. The trail is about 5–8 km total, depending on the route you choose, and is suitable for most fitness levels.

    After the hike, return to Katpana Glamp to relax and unwind. Experience the unique glamping setup, gather around a bonfire, and enjoy a traditional local dinner under the stars. In the evening, you can try night photography of the Milky Way (on clear nights) or join guided campfire storytelling for a cozy mountain experience.

  11. Day 11 Fly to Islamabad

    Begin your final day with an early transfer to Skardu Airport for your morning flight to Islamabad. Morning flights are recommended to minimize the risk of weather-related cancellations, which can be common in the mountains.

    Upon arrival in Islamabad, you will be transferred to your onward connection or to a hotel if you plan to stay. If needed, there can be a brief wrap-up meeting to review your trip, share memories, and hand over photos from your journey.

    Travel Distance: Local transfer to Skardu Airport (short), Skardu → Islamabad flight (~1 hour)
